Connectors

High performance connections with minimal footprints

The connector blocks have low reflections (S11 < -15 dB up to 10 GHz) and low crosstalk (NEXT < -40 dB). They should thermalize well and lastly, they should have a small footprint. To reduce the footprint, we are currently developing high-density connector interfaces

High-Density Compact Design

A space-saving connector format built for dense wiring routes, helping keep your I/O organized while maximizing channel capability.

About Tabbi/TM Flex Connectors

High-Density Tabbi/TM Flex Connectors

Tabbi/TM flex connectors are developed to create a compact, reliable interface between Cri/oFlex® sections inside the fridge. They enable high-density flex-to-flex connections, making it easy to transition between platforms (for example Ag to NbTi) or extend total cable length without redesigning the full I/O chain. Built for cryogenic environments, Tabbi/TM connectors support fast integration, stable alignment.

Crosstalk and Isolation

High Line Density with Excellent Channel Isolation

High-density microwave routing often raises concerns about crosstalk, but multichannel Cri/oFlex® supports tight channel spacing while maintaining strong isolation. Measured near-end and far-end crosstalk across an 8-channel flex remains below -60 dB up to 10 GHz even in worst-case adjacent-channel conditions, with NbTi flexes showing comparable performance.

Tabbi/TM 2Board

To reduce the footprint of flex connections, we have pre-launched a flex-to-board interface to connect an open-ended 8-channel Cri/oFlex® 3 to a pcb. This new design allows for upscaling and is available for all Cri/oFlex® products.

  • 1.5 mm pitch

  • S11 below -15 dB @ 6 GHz

  • EL-FEXT below -52 dB @ 6 GHz

  • Characteristic impedance 50 Ohm

  • 50x repeat connections

  • • Contact Resistance <5 mOhm at 4 K

Tabbi/TM 2Flex

To remove bulky interconnects, while still allowing for modularity in your cryogenic chain, we have developed a flex-to-flex interface to connect two open-ended 8-channel Crio/Flex® 3 cables. This ultra-high density microwave interconnect allows modular configuration of any Cri/oFlex® 3 i/o chain.

Room-Temperature Breakouts

Multichannel SMA and SMP blocks create a clean interface between control electronics, coax cables, and Cri/oFlex® outside the fridge.

Device-Level Interfacing

Connect the flex directly to the quantum device using multichannel coaxial breakouts for a stable, repeatable, low-noise connection.

About the Coaxial Connectors

Coaxial SMA and SMP Connectors

Our coaxial connector solutions provide a robust, repeatable interface between room-temperature electronics and cryogenic wiring, and also between the flex and the quantum device. Multichannel SMA and SMP connector blocks simplify high-density routing while maintaining stable impedance and clean RF performance. Designed for practical installation and long-term reliability

What We Do

Clean RF Breakouts From Electronics to Device

We provide coaxial connector blocks as standard building elements across the full I/O chain, supporting both ambient-pressure connections and device-level interfaces. By combining high-density layouts with dependable mating and shielding, these breakouts help preserve signal integrity while keeping your cryogenic system practical to assemble and maintain.

SMA

SMA connectors are available in 8 channel blocks. SMA connectors have long been the industry standard because of their sturdy nature and good microwave performance up to 18 GHz. The connector blocks are relatively large to allow tightening the connectors with a torque wrench.

SMP

SMP connectors are available in 8 channel blocks. These connectors are easy to install due to their click-in mechanism. The footprint of these connector blocks is ± 40% smaller than that of the SMA blocks, because of the smaller footprint of the connectors and because screw-in access is not required.

System integration

Integration

There is a wide variety of cooling solutions for quantum computing and low temperature experiments, ranging from lab size dilution refrigerators to small 4K table-top systems. As an i/o provider, it is our task to connect quantum devices and cold experiments to the control electronics regardless of the cooling implementation. To that end we have developed standardized solutions that fit (or can be made to fit) all fridges.

Whether you are purchasing a new system or want to refurbish your current system, Cri/oFlex® provides a solution.
